You did it!
You can now feel deeply content that, thanks to you, a vital part of our Gondwanan Rainforest World Heritage will be protected. Without your generosity it simply was not possible. Every time you fly over these rugged mountains or drive to Springbrook’s Best of All Lookout past 264 Repeater Station Road you should feel proud your spirit of giving has made such a difference.
Your donation means this land is protected forever.
For those who have planned to donate but have not yet done so, you too can still make a difference. Click here to learn more.
In mid-April, Australian Rainforest Conservation Society set up this site to raise funds to purchase a block of pristine rainforest to stop imminent clearing and loss of critical habitat of species underlying the Outstanding Universal Value of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area.
In just three days before bidding at auction our amazing friends dug deep and pledged well over half of the $320,000 we needed. That left us needing to raise the remaining $138,000 before 6 July 2016 or lose everything. That fate has now been avoided owing to the generosity of so many people.
The property in question is shown above labelled "264", being at 264 Repeater Station Road, Springbrook, Queensland, Australia. It is a vital part of a critical wildlife corridor.
The Australian Rainforest Conservation Society Inc. (ARCS) is a national not-for-profit, non-government organisation registered as a tax-deductible gift recipient on the Federal Register of Environmental Organisations.
The image below of recent clearing on Springbrook shows what we must avoid at all costs. This type of degradation is no longer acceptable if Australia is to honour its commitment to protecting its precious World Heritage.
